Proteomic analysis of the response of macrophages to nanoparticles of copper and copper oxide has enabled researchers at our laboratory to highlight different alterations in cellular function. These studies also highlight the phenomenon of cross-toxicity between eg copper oxide nanoparticles and some biological pesticides.
