Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Sandrine Ollagnier was born in the French Alps in 1971. She obtained her PhD in 1998 from Université Joseph Fourier under the supervision of Prof. M. Fontecave and Dr. E. Mulliez. Her thesis focused on a metalloenzyme involved in radical chemistry. She then spent a year as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Karlsruhe with Prof. R. Jétey, working on a plant radical enzyme. During a second postdoctoral fellowship with Prof. M. Fontecave at CEA Grenoble, she worked on radical enzymes involved in sulfur insertion. In 2001, she joined Prof. M. Fontecave's group in Grenoble, where she secured a research position with CNRS. She obtained her HDR in 2008.
Her current research focuses on the biosynthesis and reactivity of metal centers, such as iron-sulfur clusters.

Research interests

Research in our BioCatalysis laboratory focuses on the structure and reactivity of iron metalloenzymes and sulfur compounds using biochemical, analytical, spectroscopic, and structural approaches. In this context, I am primarily interested in the biogenesis and reactivity of inorganic cofactors known as iron-sulfur clusters. My research has applications in the field of health, including tuberculosis, leprosy, and gastric cancer.

Topics

Biogenesis of Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide: Quinolinate Synthase, a [4Fe-4S] Cluster Enzyme. Mechanistic Study and Inhibitor Search.
Biogenesis of Fe-S Clusters in Prokaryotes: Mechanistic Study and Inhibitor Search. Systems studied: SUF in Escherichia coli, Mycobacterium tuberculosis; SMS and MIS systems in Archaea; ISC system in E. coli.
