By studying by proteomic analysis techniques the proteins secreted by cells playing a key role in the immune response, researchers at our laboratory and at the Albert Bonniot Institute have identified proteins capable of binding a component of some walls fungi. One of them is able of induce a partial immune response of these cells. The experiences and results help to explain the resistance of certain fungal infections to the immune system.
